WINDSOR, BERKSHIRE
REGENERATION MASTERPLAN

This project seeks to regenerate a mile long stretch of Thames riverfront in Windsor.  Our indicative masterplan, commissioned by Windsor Link Railway, is premised on creating a tunnel that will connect the two rail lines which currently provide access to the town.  A new transport interchange would then offer enhanced rail links.

In addition, the town's parking issues would be addressed by introducing a car park below Alexandra Gardens and shifting the coach park away from its current park-side location. The plan also includes an improved road layout and increased pedestrian permeability with, for example, the existing viaduct being used as a green walkway.

The size of Alexandra Gardens would increase and there would also be substantial portions of brownfield land freed up for development.  The proposals for the 17 hectare site envisage a mix of uses including housing, offices, shops, a hotel and boat house, visitor centre, cinema and sports pavilion.
